Mitt Romney Partners with Anti-Conservative NRSC
Mitt Romney is at it again. He continues to partner with the elite DC crowd against conservatives. The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) has come under fire for backing moderate/liberal Republicans over solid conservatives in GOP Primary races. The most recent example is the NRSC backing moderate, Cap-N-Trade supporting, pro-Obama spending Charlie Crist over solid, articulate conservative Marco Rubio in the Florida Senate Primary. Instead of staying on the sidelines and then getting behind whoever emerges, the NRSC decided to step into a contested primary and choose one Republican (non-conservative Crist) over another (solid conservative Rubio).
By partnering with the NRSC, Mitt Romney has given his strength to the DC elite over the grassroots conservatives. This is the sort of political act that goes on behind-the-scenes and in the open that keeps conservatives from gaining ground. For those who say that Mitt Romney’s anti-conservative governing record was all the past so we can forget about, think again. This just happened.
A Facebook group called, “Not one penny to the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC)” founded by conservative RedState.com Editor-In-Chief Erick Erickson now has 1,637 members and cites the NRSC primary backing of non-conservative Chafee, Spector (now turned Democrat), and Crist.
The following is a scan of a letter that was received July 15th, 2009:

FACT: Mitt Romney Chose Only 9 GOP Judges in 36 Appointments
Shocking right? I was very surprised to find this out. It would be one thing for him to nominate some independents but he nominated 14 Democrats and only 9 Republicans. Now Romney has flipped and talks about the threat of activists judges. How do these activists judges advance through out court system? By the aid and appointment of liberal Republicans like Mitt Romney.

BOSTON.COM: “Of the 36 people Romney named to be judges or clerk magistrates, 23 are either registered Democrats or unenrolled voters who have made multiple contributions to Democratic politicians or who voted in Democratic primaries, state and local records show. In all, he has nominated nine registered Republicans, 13 unenrolled voters, and 14 registered Democrats.”

Mitt Romney: “I am not trying to return to Reagan-Bush”
In the 2008 Republican Primary, Mitt Romney constantly evoked that he was running as the candidate in the legacy of Ronald Reagan. Where was Mitt Romney on Reagan before he tried to pander to a conservative GOP base? See for yourself…
Romney:
“Look, I was an Independent at the time of Reagan-Bush. I am not trying to return to Reagan-Bush.”
